How to Improve Your Credibility…
(and Your Commission Check)

Filed under: Network Marketing, Social Media for Network Marketers

Network marketers, especially when they are new, face an inherent problem – a lack of credibility.

You’ve found a great company and a great product, but if you’re new you not only have no credibility selling your product line, but you also have no credibility in helping others to succeed in your business.

So now you are trying to recruit your friends and family into a business where you have no experience so that they can sell a product that you’ve never sold before.   Not exactly the picture of business success that most people would want before investing their time, energy, and money!

Build up trust: Businessman building trust-word.See the problem?

How do you fix it?

Well, if you’re lucky and you have enough credibility in your warm market to get people to at least listen to you (or your upline), then you may have a fighting chance.  But most newbies will struggle in this department too.  And even if you do have that type of credibility in your warm market, most of the people you recruit won’t!

So let’s think about this for a minute…   how do people get credibility when they are new at something?

Typically, it starts with education – in two forms.  Educate yourself and then educate others.

You begin by getting as educated as possible about your product line AND the network marketing industry.  This means attending meetings, listening to audios or videos, reading, and mentoring with someone in your upline that can provide you with the needed education.

This means you will need to invest some time into YOURSELF.

But you can earn as you learn!  How?

By sharing the information you learn with those in your warm market.

Ok, so how do you do this?

That’s the beauty of Social Media!

Let’s stop and define Social Media…   Social Media is any platform that can be used for you to interact “socially” with others.  Obviously we all immediately think Facebook but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  Email, blogs, and YouTube videos are also very powerful Social Media tools.  In fact, they are probably the MOST powerful tools that you are NOT currently using!

So if you truly want to begin building credibility and thus, building your network marketing business faster, follow these steps:

  1. Start a blog.  You can do it right now by going to  You can have a free blog up and running by the end of the day today.
  2. Create an email newsletter.  Use a simple and inexpensive platform like to reach out to your warm market with information that they would actually find interesting or useful.
  3. Record a few videos.  Try this…  the next time you learn something valuable about your product line, grab your smartphone (I’m sure you have one), turn on the video recorder, and spend 60 seconds recording what you just learned.  Sign up for a free account on YouTube and you’ll be able to share that video with people via email or even your Facebook page.

Here’s the thing…

It doesn’t need to be perfect.

You just have to get started!

That’s typically the difference between success and failure in MLM – taking action!

Think of it this way…

If you had a new job, you’d need to learn a few new things, implement them, and take action.  If you didn’t, you’d lose the job and the income that comes with it.

If you’re new at MLM you need to learn a few new things, implement them, and take action.  If you don’t, you’ll never see any income.

Eerily similar don’t you think?

Ok, so a few final words…

You need to build your credibility in order to become wildly successful in your network marketing business.   Do this by taking the necessary action to educate yourself and educate others.

Oh, and in case you don’t believe me…

The next time you are at a meeting or training, look around the room.   Who has the highest paycheck?  Is it the man/woman who is leading the meeting and providing the education?   Enough said.
